At Bosque Del Apache,
New Mexico, bird migration occurs in the winter months.
This reservation is a national treasure. Thousands and thousands
of Snow Geese stay here to feed and fatten as they continue
their journey. This picture was taken very early in the
morning and the condition was just right to cause a thick
mist to develop over the feeding ponds. The snow geese would,
from time to time, take off for different sites. Most of
the birds in this image are feeding. A few are in the air.
I like the conditions in which this picture was taken. The
lighting on this cold, early morning is wonderful.
